Get A Quote

What do you want to do?

“Get a quote” means different things. Let’s clarify what you want to do:

A man and a boy in wetsuits float on a surfboard near a pier

Insured by NIA:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County
San Diego, CA

Read this first! Really.

Getting a quote for liability and property insurance for your nonprofit is not like getting a five-minute quote for personal car insurance.

After filling out the initial interest form below, you’ll be working with an insurance broker and submitting a detailed application.

Just want a quick estimate for your own budget research? Get a ballpark.

How is pricing determined?

Your premium is based on your nonprofit’s own unique operations.

How does this process work?

Submit the initial interest form below. You’ll then work with an insurance broker to submit a detailed application.

Application?

Yes. And an insurance broker will help you fill it out.

Insurance broker?

A broker is required to procure insurance from NIA. Here’s how a broker benefits your organization.

Does a broker cost money?

No. And having a broker will not raise the price of your quote or insurance premium.

I don’t have a broker.

No problem. NIA will connect you with one as part of the process!

How long does it take?

Once your broker submits the completed application to NIA, you should receive your quote in less than seven days.

Why seven days?

NIA takes the time to understand your nonprofit and provide fair and equitable pricing that is in line with your specific level of risk.

May I call you?

Sure! You’ll speak with a real person, too. Just call 800-359-6422, ext. 1727.

FAQ

Have more questions about the quote and/or application process?  No worries.

If you've got a brand-new nonprofit, or if you're thinking about starting one and just doing research for your budget, you may be interested in the minimum annual premiums for all the insurance coverage that NIA offers.

Your insurance quote will most likely differ, as your premium will be entirely defined by your nonprofit’s own level of risk.

Note: These minimum numbers are provided for informational purposes only.

Once you've submitted a complete application for coverage through a licensed insurance broker, it can take seven days or more to receive a quote. Here’s why:

In coordination with your broker, you'll be asked to complete a thorough application which inquires about your size, your operations, and key factors — like whether or not you have volunteers, host events, or serve children or the elderly.

This information will be included in the application submitted by the broker to NIA.

The NIA team must then review, analyze, and price the risk presented by your operations. You'll receive an email from NIA letting you know that teams are working on a quote.

When the quote is complete, your broker will retrieve it from NIA's secure website, and review its terms and conditions with you.

Nonprofits Insurance Alliance (NIA) provides coverage to 501(c)(3) nonprofits exclusively through licensed insurance brokers.

Brokers serve as an independent and beneficial guide for nonprofits, providing valuable recommendations and helping them navigate the more complex areas of insurance and find the right coverage for their needs.

Learn more about insurance brokers at the Nonprofits Insurance 101 page.

There are no additional fees beyond dues. No membership fees. No handling fees. No interest fees. No taxes.
